This site is dedicated to the premise that it is better
to give someone a hand up rather than a hand out.

Working on the premise of lending a helping hand up, we are promoting the rebuilding of a tiny country called East Timor, on an equally tiny island just north of Australia,which has been ravaged by Indonesia since trying to establish a referendum for their independence. A.B.E.T. Queensland has come up with what we feel is an excellent way to help the East Timorese rebuild their country and achieve total independence ~ from both oppressors and well-meaning hand outs, by building fishing boats so they can feed themselves and regenerate their dying economy.
