Developed and implemented office ergonomic programs that reduced the occurrence of cumulative trauma disorders and discomfort by 55-75% and workers' compensation costs by 65%.
Performed approximately 2300 ergonomic evaluations in office environments and industrial environments such as assembly lines, chemical plants, labs, control rooms, offshore platforms and tankers. Created affordable solutions that eliminated/minimized risk of ergonomic related injury.
Developed company-wide ergonomics work practice addressing issues related to office ergonomics, industrial ergonomics, telecommuting/home office ergonomics, ergonomics in the automobile, laptop ergonomics, and non-occupational ergonomic issues.
Created and delivered training for approximately 3000 people on ergonomic fundamentals, assessing the work environment for risk, and implementing and managing an ergonomics program.
Organized, developed, and facilitated a 2-day ergonomics workshop. This workshop was designed to kick-start ergonomic programs throughout a corporation of 40,000 employees. Over 150 safety professionals, supervisors, and managers attended the workshop. Feedback received included; "This was the best in-house workshop I've attended, very educational. Excellent resource materials, now I know where to start!"
Developed and provided an ergonomics design class for engineers and other professionals with design responsibilities focusing on eliminating cumulative trauma disorders, increasing productivity, and minimizing human error.
Conducted extensive research and wrote thesis on different types of task analysis, applicability to different environments, and their ability to provide an accurate assessment of risk. Results of the research were presented at the American Conference of Industrial Hygienist (ACGIH) and the Silicon Valley Ergonomics Institute (SVEI) Conference.
Developed and implemented Injury and Illness Prevention Programs for seven different office environments that succeeded in reducing injuries and complying with Cal -OSHA legal requirements.
Researched and developed a paper on ergonomics best practices which was presented last year at Silicon Valley Ergonomics Conference and Exposition. Several participants called it one of the best presentations at the seminar.
Wrote guide on understanding and preventing occupational carpal tunnel syndrome.
